OWH is important to me because I have a nephew in the military. He left home for eight months when his new baby girl was just 3 months old. He's lucky to live in the age we do. At least he can Skype and keep his voice and face fresh in Lilly's mind. Service people years ago didn't have that option!

Super cute cards, and a HUGE thank you to your nephew... (sweet photos too...) I have three out of four sons serving, and come from an AF family myself... so I remember the "Old" days when you had to wait for snail mail, or those few and far in between calls from a loved one.

ReplyDeleteYes, OWH is personal for many of us. My son is a US Marine and I do cards because I want to support all who serve connect with their loved ones. It is so challenging to be apart for so long.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Seeing the pictures of your nephew and his family made me tear up. So hard to think of them being apart with him serving all of us while his little girl grows. Hoping he returns safely and soon to see this precious little child. Thank you for sharing! And you are right about at least they have skype now. My husband's father would be gone long periods of time in the Navy with only letters to keep the contact. Wishing you well!
