Sugar Creek Hollow vintage Trash to Treasure Christmas door hanger

Welcome to this weeks Sugar Creek Hollow Vintage challenge.
This week we're trying something new...we're taking trash (literally) and turning it into "treasure"!
We want you to take something that you would have normally thrown out of recycled and use it
on your card or other paper craft project.  I have made a door hanger with my recycling and garden waste.

My first trash item was the lid from an Olive container.
I've used it as the base of my hanger.  Everything is glued on top of it.
I painted it tan in case any of it showed from the side of the hanger.

My next step was to use some hot glue to apply the lace.

Then, because the lid was recessed a bit I needed to build up the center
so that my paper would lie flat.  I cut some foam circles with my Spellbinders
circle dies and glued them on.
After that it was just a matter of creating it the same way you would
a card.

Here's a close up and you can see my other piece of "trash".
The "twig" is from a plant that I had in a pot.  It's called Curly Wurly and
is green when you buy it.  As it dies off it turns brown and creates these
cool twiggy looking spirals.  Normally I just toss the dead plant into
our woods but this time I turned some of it into treasure.
The cardinals are from Heartfelt Creations and the flowers, leaves and
stems are from Michael's.
I've used Spellbinders dies to create the matte
and cut out the cardinals. (it's a matching die/stamp set).
The sentiment is a clear $1 stamp.
The crystals are from Pizzazz Aplenty.

This is wonderful and makes such a pretty decoration. I love the rich colours and the dimension you have created. That curly branch is a great touch.
Hugs!

What beautiful choices you made for your creation....this is a great idea! Love that you can use a plastic lid and turn it into a gift for any occasion. Of course, I am in love with your Christmas theme and I too love the curly twig. Hope you are well.
