He finally found a home

Last week were lucky enough to adopt the most wonderful
dog in the world.  His name is Boomer and he's around 2 years old.
For the last year he's been living in a kennel while he was waiting to
be adopted.  Before that he was rescued from a high kill shelter in
Kentucky.  As soon as I saw him I knew he was coming home with
us.  He has been a bit of a challenge.  He has separation anxiety and
he does like to steal food of the counter but it's nothing we can't deal with.
This is a card that I made to thank the woman who runs the rescue that
saved him.  She's been so helpful through this whole process.

I found an image of a dog on line that sort of resembled him
and then I opened it up in paint and changed the ears, some of the fur
and the forehead.  I tried to make it look as much like him as possible.

Here's the photo I modeled it after.

Boomer is half Great Pyrenees and half hound. (we don't know what kind)

He's such a gentle, loving, well behaved dog.  It's so hard to
believe he's never had a home.  We have some training to do.
He only knows sit and he sort of stays.  We're working on
lay down and shake.  He's so smart.  He'll get there.
Isn't he beautiful?  Don't you love that smile!

We were so lucky to have found each other.
He came home to stay on Feb. 10, 2012

Welcome home from ski club Dominick.  I missed you!
