Trash to Vintage Treasure with Sugar Creek Hollow Ch#1

Welcome to the first challenge of the new Sugar Creek Hollow called TRASH TO TREASURE. This week we want you to take something that would normally be headed for your garbage can or your recycling bin and transform it into a vintage, shabby chic or primitive treasure. We also hope that you will make use of your scraps in this challenge but that shouldn't be considered your trash item.

When the Design Team comes to visit your blog they will need to see a photo of your trash item along with the finished project so they can say "Wow, that started out as that!" Besides, the "before" photo is the only way they will know if your entry is eligible.

This week one random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display on their blog. The Design Team will choose a Top Pick and the creator of that project will also receive a winner's badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Here's my creation...

It started out as a scrap piece of corrugated cardboard
which I then painted white with acrylic paint and then
Distress Crackle paint.  I used a pattern that I found on
the internet.

Many Spellbinders dies went into the layering of my star.

But wait...there's more "trash" on my item.  It's actually more
of a recycled or repurposed item. The crystal hanging at the bottom
used to be on my shower curtain in my old house.  We don't need shower
curtains in our new house because we have glass doors but I just couldn't
leave them behind.  I've had them sitting in a jar for 3 years.  I decided it
was time to use one!

Here's a close up of the star.

This is awesome and the crystal jumped out at me too. I tried to figure out just how many layers were in the star and only got to 4 besides the star but thanks for sharing the dies so I could spot the other two. I can see this in red and gold hanging on my Christmas tree next year - just need to find some crystals.
Hugs!
