Baby Girl Slim Journal! from Art Impressions

Hello everyone and welcome to my first SLIM journal creation.

This journal is exactly like the original journal except that you only need to put two
pages in it. In fact, I only used one page making it even simpler because I added popped
up bows and I didn't want them to get squished.

The pretty heart clasp comes with the Slim Journal.

My journal is a little keepsake for a baby girls first tooth lost and first hair cut.
I used 5811 – Gift Card Pocket Dies to create each of the pockets. which fit perfectly onto the 5768 – Decorative Journal Page Set 1 frame I used behind them.

For the tooth, I cut a smaller pocket using a die from the 5805 – Mini Journal Box Dies and then added the little envelope from 5543 – Journal Template Die Set. I used the bow and rectangle from 5811 – Gift Card Pocket Dies.

The letters were cut from 5562 – Journal Letter Die Set.
This sweet baby girl is from 5185 – Baby Girl Set

The pocket for the lock of hair is the same as the tooth pocket except that I didn't use the small envelope inside. I used a heart from 5543 – Journal Template Die Set.

My journal also can be used as inspiration for our current Pop It Up! challenge on the Art Impressions blog.  My bows are popped up as well as my baby girl being popped up on foam dots. You might win a free stamp set if you enter!

I used 5809 – Decorative Journal Page Set 2 to create the border on my center page.
That's the great thing about these journals. Almost everything is compatible.

Sweet Baby Girl from Art Impressions

Hello Ai fans!

It's always good to have some baby cards on hand.  I mean, even though you usually have about 6 months notice, sometimes those showers or births can sneak up on you. I work in an elementary school with lots of young teachers so it seems like someone's always pregnant. lol!

The baby girl, duck and sentiment are all from 5185 – Baby Girl Set and they're stamped and matted on circles from 5726 – Nested Circle Dies.  It's difficult to see it but the wall behind her is embossed to look like shiplap paneling. I used a scoreboard to do that.

The little bow, star and banner that the sentiment is stamped on are all from 5543 – Journal Template Die Set. In my opinion, even if you never make a journal, this is a MUST HAVE set!!  There are so many useful dies in this amazing set. I've circled the dies that I used so you can better see them.

This is such a precious set. I hope next time you have a new baby to welcome that you'll give this set a try!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

It's a GIRL! Let's Celebrate!

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing my card that I made for the Let's Celebrate challenge
that's going on right now on the Art Impressions blog!

I used two sets on my card.

The stamps are from 5185 – Baby Girl Set.

The dies are all from the very large 5543 – Journal Template Die Set.
This may be my all time favorite die set from Art Impressions.  Who am I kidding?
It absolutely is!  This set has 35 dies in it.  It isn't just for creating journals. This
set is SO versatile!  I use something from it on almost every card I make now.

I'm not sure what it is about this little girl but I always think "vintage" when I see her.
This card was made for the nurse at my school.  She just had a baby girl and is still on leave.
She texted me and said she LOVED it!

The die set comes with what I'd call an "applique" type flourish die. I used it to cut
the shape out on the frame but then put it back in to kind of created a wood applique look.
I then used an old pigment ink pad to distress several of the edges.

I always feel like pink and gold is a very feminine color combination so I used
3 different types of gold ribbon.

Baby Boy Journal pages 7 and 8

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I have the next two pages in my Baby Boy Journal.
These are the 7th and 8th pages that I've made.

Some of this book is based on my son.  I honestly can't remember when he first sat up without looking in his baby book. He was obsessed with dinosaurs from about 2-8 yrs. old though so notice the "dinosaur" book in front of the mouse.  He loved to be read to.  I can remember him being about 3 years old and correcting my husband's pronunciation of the dino names...lol! He's an avid reader now as an adult.

So...do as I say and not as I do.  I realized too late that I began gluing the pages on the right side of the journal in backwards.  Oops. You can see I tried to peel it up and it started to tear. Oh well.  It still works but, lesson learned.

I hope you've been enjoying my journal.  It's been so much fun to make and I can't wait to start a new one.  I haven't decided on a theme yet.  There are SO MANY possibilities!

If you've missed earlier posts just go to the bottom of this post and click the Baby Boy Journal tag and all of the previous pages will pop up.  I hope you had a great weekend!

Welcome baby!

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a set of baby cards with you.

I love these two sets so much!
The sets are called
and

The SO SWEET verse is stamped on a diecut from the set

One of my co-workers is having a baby girl in March so I wanted to
have a card ready to go.

The verse was stamped on 5133 – Flag Double Stitched Dies.

We have another family friend due soon and their baby will be a surprise so
I made multiple versions so I'd have something appropriate on hand when needed.

I just love how sweet this baby girl is.

So...confession time.  Sometimes I see what I THINK is a deal only to later think...what was I THINKING??  Many, many years ago I was beginning to scrapbook. I wanted to print photos at home and I was thrilled when I found photo paper at the dollar store!  I stocked up!  Well, the paper wasn't great or maybe it was the combo of paper with my printer.  I also stopped scrapbooking.  Now I have SO MANY packages of this paper.  I recently pulled it out and started using it for a different reason. I've used it to die cut words for cards and on these baby cards I used it on the clouds.  I like the glossy look and turns out...it's a lot of what would be considered "designer paper" for a really cheap cost!  Turns out it was a great find.

Welcome Baby! from Art Impressions

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a fairly new set to Ai.
This adorable image comes from the set called

I wanted to put together a shaker that reflected something sweet and feminine.  I used some seed beads, sequins and tiny little safety pins.

A friend of mine has requested a baby card for her friend who is due this spring.  She doesn't yet know the sex of the baby so if it's a girl...I'm ahead of the game. If it's a boy...I'll need to get busy with THIS set instead!

I used one of the sentiments and a small
image from the set on the inside of the card.

Happy new baby!!

Sweet Baby Girl from Art Impressions

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a card I made with the brand new Baby Girl Set -5185.

For the big release I kept my colors fun and bright but for this card I wanted to try something softer and more vintage looking.

I embellished with hearts and sparkly sequins because that's the kind of girl I am. I have so much heart shaped jewelry and sequined tops!

The set comes with 10 total stamps.  I used the girl on the front and two more on the inside of my card.
