Good morning and welcome to Sensational Saturday's with Sugar Creek Hollow. Today, we have a great color challenge for you. Though the colors did pose a bit of a challenge for me I LOVE to make my Christmas card with non-traditional holiday colors so this was right up my alley. Here are the colors we were given to work with.
Here is the card that I created with these colors and the beautiful SCH image Joy to the World. As you may know, I work in a school. This past week the library was throwing out some outdated atlases. (I don't think some of the countries even exist anymore!) I figured I could come up with something to do with them! When I got home I started thinking of the SCH Joy to the World stamp. What better to use with a stamp about "the world" than a map as a background. I used a page from the index as my first BG layer and then an actual map for behind my image. Since we're talking about recycling materials I have also used paper from an old sewing pattern that was sent to me by Tracy, the owner of SCH. I used it to make my poinsettia flower since it was very close to one of the challenge colors.
Digi Stamps are the greatest ever, because they can be sized to what ever you would like and you can print them any color you would like. There is a tutorial on using digi stamps HERE at our store if you would like to view it. I also created a tutorial for changing the color of digis HERE Crafter's Digital Art Center if you'd like to view that.
I have changed the color of the black Joy to the World image and made it pink to go along with my challenge colors. It's so easy to do and makes the SCH digis so versatile.
Now, HERE are some ideas from the rest of our team using these four colors. You can also enter your card in our challenge after you have viewed what the other ladies have made for you. Follow the instructions given once you have gone HERE.
