Happy 29th Birthday! ...AGAIN!

Hello Ai Fans!
Today I'm sharing a brand new set from Art Impressions
Say It Loud line!
The set is called Happy 29th (sku 4224) and I paired it with 1/2 of the Birthday Couple image.

I got my layout from the challenge at Simon Says Stamp!
Their DT is featuring Ai stamps this week!
There are two sketches to choose from and I chose this one.
Simon Says Stamp: Choose a Sketch Challenge

I absolutely love the Birthday Couple but for this card I only wanted the guy.  My mom's boyfriend has a birthday on Tuesday and I made this to give to him.

There's a cute verse with the set and I used it on the inside.

White on White Sympathy Butterfly

I made this card anticipating entering a few challenges and unfortunately had to stamp a sympathy sentiment inside of it.  My mother lost her best friend on Wednesday.  There is something a little eerie about this card.  I made this on Wednesday after I found out.  On Sunday morning my mom called me with the arrangements and was telling me about the flowers she ordered.  She had two RED BUTTERFLIES put in with the flowers to represent the two of them.

I printed the Butterfly from Sugar Creek Hollow twice so that the wings sould be more 3-dimensional.  Looking at it now I wish I had colored the butterfly underneath as well but my time was limited.  I had 2 other cards that needed to be made that same night.  (they're very similar and I'll post those later this week.

I've entered my card in the following challenges...

Card makings:
Image: Sugar Creek Hollow
3 Cuttlebug embossing folders
Spellbinders: Eyelet & Lacy square
crocheted lace
Copic markers
Sizzix embossing corner die
red pearls

Makena's Cookbook

For those of you who may not know I have a 10 year old daughter.  She likes to eat.  Let me rephrase that... she LOVES to eat.  She's a tiny little thing,  only in the 6% tile for her age but MAN can she pack it away.  She also loves to eat WELL.  She's not your typical kid.  No PB&J or hot dogs for her.  She wants Parmesan crusted tilapia, roasted asparagus and porcini mushroom risotto for dinner.  She loves all kinds of food and has recently been taking more of an interest in helping me cook.  She has said a few times lately that she wants to have my recipes written down for when she grows up.  I thought it would be a nice idea to start her a cook book that she and I can record recipes in as we find them.  I decided to buy a 5 subject notebook and I broke it down into Main dishes, Side dishes, Soups, Stews & Sauces, Appetizers and Salads.  I don't bake so the only dessert recipe I have is my grandmothers chocolate chip cookies.  There are pockets in each section so I figure she can put any odds and ends like that in one of those.  I covered the front and back of the notebook both inside and out.

The cute apron is from Sugar Creek Hollow.  That's one of the huge advantages of a digi stamp.  I was able to enlarge this to a size that filled my cover.  I printed it on DP and then added the lace.  I love how it looks.

On the inside of the front cover I wrote her a personal message.

Each section has a tab and 2 pockets which I used 2 Quickutz embossing strips on as well as various flower punches and a Recollections border punch.

I also typed up a kitchen chart for her with measurement equivalencies and cooking times and temps for meat.

I'm pretty sure she's going to love it and I can't wait to see what recipes she chooses to put in it.

I've entered the cookbook in the following challenges...

5 Subject notebook

Big, Huge Thank you

I'd like to thank everyone over at City Crafter Challenge Blog where I was a spotlight artist.  Their challenge theme last week was Blue Christmas (which I love!) and I was spotlighted for this card.  Thanks again for the fun challenge.

Spotlight Artist Badge

One Martini, Two Martini....

This snowman knows how to party!  I loved this Stampin' Up snowman even before I realized I could put a drink in his hand and pair him up with this humorous sentiment!  I know there's a lot of snowmen floating around out there this time of year and I wanted mine to sort of stand out.  I don't think there are a lot of martini drinking snowmen out there so I think that I've accomplished my task.

Pink Passion!

This card is not your traditional holiday card but I couldn't resist trying these stamps in pink.  I love how they turned out!  These are going to be holiday cards but they certainly could be used for other occasions such as baby girl, birthday etc.  I have used two stamps from Sugar Creek Hollow.  I used the Blue Plate Special and Christmas Plaque.  If you look at how these stamps started out and then how the ended up on the card you can see how versatile digi stamps are.  Here is my card...

Amazing stamp release for Sugar Creek Hollow's Sensational Saturday!!

Hello and welcome to another Sensational Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow.  We have an unusually special post today because we are premiering a phenomenal new stamp set!  Help me welcome the new Baby Jesus & Scroll set....

Also, don't forget to make sure to go to Sugar Creek Hollow's blog to check out this week's challenge.  All you have to do is use one of their winter digis.  If you don't own one you can go to the Sugar Creek Hollow store and grab a freebie to participate!

This gorgeous stamp was hand drawn by a young girl in Poland after it was commissioned by Tracy, owner of Sugar Creek Hollow.  It's one of the most, if not the most beautiful stamps I've ever seen.  The pretty scroll that I've used inside was designed by SCH's own DT member Donna.

I had originally planned a different card for today's post but when I saw the new release I just had to create something with it.  I plan on posting the other card which I used the beautiful Winter Scene to make tomorrow so please stop back again then!

You can see all of this week's cards from the SCH DT here. There's so much inspiration to be had from these ladies!

If you MUST HAVE this stamp set (just like I did) then visit the Sugar Creek Hollow shoppe.  There is still plenty of time to make some gorgeous Christmas cards.  Imagine how stunned people will be to open an envelope and see a creation made with something this beautiful!

My card is entered in the following challenges...
Bee Crafty (Christmas theme)
The Crafty Pad (Christmas sparkle)
MelJen's (Sparkle)
One Stitch at a Time (favorite color)
Paper Sundaes (Punches, Ribbon)
Scrappy Frogs (Christmas)
