I Brake For Vintage Sleds!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a beautiful vintage image from I Brake For Stamps.  I love Victorian style anything so when I saw this image I instantly thought of a million possibilities for it.

It's called CHILD ON SLED.

I always think of old buttons when I think vintage and although I may have gone a little overboard with number of them I chose, I like them.

I Brake For Cardinals

Winter is definitely upon us here in the northeastern U.S. and one of my favorite sights to see is when I spot a beautiful red cardinal in my yard set against the white snowy background. Cardinals are the ultimate Christmas bird being red and I fell in love with this image when I saw it at I Brake For Stamps. The image is called CARDINAL.

I colored him with Copics and added some Stickles to the berries to make them even more festive.

I love Eunice!!

Eunice is one of my favorite Art Impressions
characters.  I have Santa's Helper Eunice, the ballerina and plain old
Eunice: if you can EVER call Eunice plain!

This week's Art Impressions challenge is to use 2 or more
ribbons.  I used a metallic green one in my border and
the red ribbon on my bows.  The border and
leaf dies are from Marianne's Creatables.
The corners were made with a Sizzix cut and emboss die.

Sugar Creek Hollow DT sketch challenge for October

It's time for another design team sketch challenge from Sugar Creek Hollow.  I rotated the sketch 90 degrees for my card.  I chose the Christmas Joy stamp.  This image is so pretty.  I printed it on green DP and though it's hard to see in the picture I changed some of the flourishes and made them green as well.  I couldn't resist when I saw that Spellbinders had cardinals now.  (speaking of which, SCH has the prettiest little cardinal in their new Christmas line that I can't wait to use!) I have placed this one on a branch that is covered with my glitter snow writer.  I also used that on my new Tim Holtz bare tree.

If you decide to make a card using this challenge sketch leave me a comment with a link to your card.  I'd love to see it!

Don't forget to check out what the other design team  members created.  You can find links to all of their blogs on the right side bar of my blog.  You'll be glad you did!

Card makings:

Dies:  Spellbinders Cardinal, oval & scalloped oval, Tim Holtz Tree, Bosskuts Branch

hOWLy, jOWLy Christmas!

When I heard that Cornish Heritage Farms was going out of business I knew there were at least 2 sets that I needed to have,  URA Hoot & Landing Pad.  The owls are so darn cute!  I don't have very many Christmas cards made yet so I thought I better get a move on it!  It's hard to see in the photo but I used liquid applique on his Santa hat to make it look like real fur.  I'm not sure what you call this type of card but I think they're fun to make.

Card makings...
Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms
Embossing folders: Stampin' Up & Cuttlebug
Copic markers,
Border punch: Stampin' Up
Flowers: Prima
Crystal snowflake
Spellbinders label dies
Chipboard frame
Liquid applique
