Ai top three for the year

Hello Ai Fans!

This New Years we were asked to choose our top three favorite cards that we've made this year.  Not an easy task with so many amazing Ai images!

Here are my top three choices (and an honorable mention...please forgive me Kate...I just couldn't choose between these 4)

Each card has a link to my original post so you can see my supply list, copic colors and link to the stamps in the Art Impressions store if you'd like.

And...my honorable mention...

Girlfriends at a winery! Lucky them!!

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite GIRLFRIENDS images from Art Impressions.

Bear with me...there are A LOT of pictures in this post!  I spent nearly a full day assembling two copies of this card and I want to be able to remember it when it's gone!! lol!!  I had to fussy cut 8 barrels, 8 tiny mice, two cheese platters, two sets of Girlfriends, 10 wine bottles and two wine glasses!!  I'm takin' lots of pictures!!

The cheese platter is actually from Luigi (Sku#T2832).
What a happy coincidence that his platter fit perfectly on top of the "wine" barrel.
If you look closely at the Luigi image you'll see that what I've used as a tablecloth is actually his hand holding up the tray.  Pretty cool huh?

Here's a close up of the Girlfriends and their shiny wine glasses.

The mice may have been a challenge to trim but they were worth every second!  Aren't they the cutest thing ever!  I know no self respecting winery would really let mice run around the tasting rooms but they made this card extra special.  Furries TF (Sku#4208)

Check out the shiny "glass" window with the grapevines hanging from it!

The wall art and the wine bottles were all just printed off the internet. The Wine Taster piece is actually a sign that you can order for your house! I just shrunk it down...WAY down... Cute huh?

This is one of the verses that comes with the Wine Taster Girlfriends set.

Hello Ai Fans!!

Today we have something new and wonderful to share with you.  Art Impressions has a new line called Mini Front & Backs.  These are adorable little pint sized animal versions of the traditional F&B line.

You can check out more over at Art Impressions Challenge Blog.
I'm sharing Bunny & Ducky Mini Set. (sku#4404)
I also used some verses from Ai to enhance the new set...
and

These sets are made with a face to peep out of the front through a circle, square, heart etc.

...and a back for when you open the card up!
My little bunny is standing on Wooden Barrel (#F1730).

Since Easter is right around the corner I chose to use Block Happy Easter on the inside of my card.

Here's the inside of the blue card.

Don't you just love this sweet little face?!

Here's our blog hop order.  Since you're here at my blog you should visit Sherry next.  Just click her name to link to her post.

Wanted In The Old West

Here's the other card that I made for the Yesteryear contest. I instantly thought of floral teapots and porch swings when I heard yesteryear but I wanted to go a different route. A cowboy may not be as pretty as those things but the old west is definitely a part of yesteryear. I picked up the adorable cowboy paper a week or so ago not knowing what I'd use it for but it turned out to be perfect for this card. I colored Slim with watercolor pencils and his chaps are "pleather" that I stamped and cut out. I just love the combination of the stamps... the hay bails, the barrel, Slim and the wagon wheel. The cute wanted saying is actually just the name of the paper that I cut of the end! Hey, waste not, want not. The ribbon slide is from the leather section at Michael's and I thought our guy needed a fiber lasso. A little stitching around the edges and my card was ready to upload. The judges will notify the winners at the end of the month. I can hardly wait. The only problem with posting these and letting you know that I entered is now you'll know if I don't win too! Oh well, I had fun making the cards even if I don't win. It sure would be nice though!

Chick Magnet

When I saw this Rooster & phrase I just had to have it. (thanks Art Impressions) It's tough for me to find masculine stamps that I like. I have 5 nephews and 4 brothers-in-law so these stamps should get lots of use. I used my copics to color it and sponged the background with chalk ink. The barrel and hay bail are also AI. The backgrounder is yet another from Cornish Heritage Farms... 'Chicken Wire . I'm not sure yet who will end up with this card but I think they'll like this cool dude.
