As some of you know we lost our sweet Amber on Dec. 13, 2007. It was very difficult losing her just before Christmas and so suddenly. To us she seemed the picture of health but there was a terrible thing growing inside her and we were forced to say goodbye just one day after the 10 year anniversary of when we adopted her. She came to us on Dec. 12, 1997. Amber was taken from the pound by the Golden Retriever Rescue Program and we were lucky enough to have her come live with us. She brought nothing but joy her entire time with us. She wanted nothing more than to love us and be loved. ...oh yeah, and as much food as she could sucker us out of! All of the vets we dealt with were wonderful and they even took a mold of her paw print and gave us a lock of her hair. I wanted to preserve these items so I made this shadow box. On the back Tom and I made a list of all the reasons we loved her and everything we will miss about her. The two photos of her are from opposite ends of her time with us. The photo of just her was taken in March 1998, a few months after we got her. The photo with me was taken 2 days before she passed away. We'll always love and miss you Amber.
