Last weekend for my son's 12th birthday we went for a family hike at a local state forest. We love to hike in our own woods but wanted to go somewhere different for his birthday and were so glad we did. The woods were beautiful and so was the weather. There was so much to see. After the hike we stopped at a pumpkin farm where he "officially" turned 12 in the haunted house and then out for Mexican food that evening. He said it was his best birthday ever!
We had had a lot of rain in the days before we went and this was a portion of the path that had flooded. Makena loved how the trees reflected in the water so I took a photo of her reflection with the beautiful leaves.
It was the perfect fall day!
