Baby Boy Journal pages 13-16 It's DONE!

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm finishing up my Baby Boy Journal.

I have my last 4 pages.
I've had so much fun making this and hope you've been inspired to try your own journal.

On my center panel I used an interactive set.

I used the new 5495 – MB Nursery.
When you're ready to close up the journal, you just fold up the Matchbook.

Next up is baby's first haircut.
Doesn't every mother save a lock of hair?

Now you have a sweet little envelope to keep it in.

Also, his first birthday!
I used the letter I cut in half to make the dashes and apostrophe.

This is the inside cover page.

You can pull the envelope out of the pocket.
How cute!

I wish this journal was around when my now 22 and 23 year old kids were babies.
I would have probably made several of these.
My daughter danced for 14 years.  This would have been a beautiful keepsake.
Maybe a school journal...a page for each year of school.
My son would have loved a soccer journal. He played from 8-18.

This journal has SO much in it.
This is your chance to showcase dozens of your favorite Ai sets.
The theme doesn't matter.  Make what your heart tells you to.

You've heard the expression Go Big or Go Home?
Well...lol!  I may have gone a BIT overboard with the foam tape.
I must say, those clasps handled the weight and thickness like a champ!

This journal has endless possibilities!
I love it so much.
What's next?  I'm not sure yet.
Maybe a recipe journal?
Maybe bees and flowers?
Who knows...

Baby Boy Journal pages 11 and 12 from Art Impressions

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing pages 11 and 12 of my Baby Boy Journal.

This time it's all about his first holidays!

For Halloween he was a pirate!
How cute is this little guy?!

I decorated both the front and back of the little frame tag and used the journal die clasps as a decorative element.

Then we're onto his first Christmas.
I used Dr. PH Martin's bleed proof white to make the snow.

I have 4 pages left to share. 2 are complete and 2 are not.
If I can get the last two finished, I'll share all 4 next Sunday.  If not, I'll just share the two finished ones.
Happy crafting everyone!

Baby Boy Journal pages 9 and 10 from Art Impressions

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing pages 9 and 10 of my Baby Boy Journal.

This time it's all about his favorite toys!

If this were an actual/factual journal I think I'd write on the back of the tags who gave him his favorite toys so he'd always have that memory.

I used the little pocket die to hold the tags featuring the favorite toys.

The new Journal Letter Dies were used to create the words and I used the M3190 – Baby Window for the image.

The waves were created with one of the border dies in the Journal Template set (It's the piece that was cut off when I made the thin border on the opposite page...cool way to use every piece!)  and the stars are from the 5317 – MB Template Dies.  I really don't like to waste anything.  If you look, you'll see one little star is on the edge of the paper.  My gold paper slipped when I was cutting it and one star had a point missing.  I just trimmed it and put it on the edge like it was done on purpose.  I think it adds character and I didn't have to throw that star away.

The adorable sailboat and plane are from the 5184 – Baby Boy Set. The truck is a new release called 5576 – Little Trucks Set.

Stay tuned next week for pages 11 and 12.
It's holiday time!

Happy crafting!

Baby Boy Journal pages 7 and 8

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I have the next two pages in my Baby Boy Journal.
These are the 7th and 8th pages that I've made.

Some of this book is based on my son.  I honestly can't remember when he first sat up without looking in his baby book. He was obsessed with dinosaurs from about 2-8 yrs. old though so notice the "dinosaur" book in front of the mouse.  He loved to be read to.  I can remember him being about 3 years old and correcting my husband's pronunciation of the dino names...lol! He's an avid reader now as an adult.

So...do as I say and not as I do.  I realized too late that I began gluing the pages on the right side of the journal in backwards.  Oops. You can see I tried to peel it up and it started to tear. Oh well.  It still works but, lesson learned.

I hope you've been enjoying my journal.  It's been so much fun to make and I can't wait to start a new one.  I haven't decided on a theme yet.  There are SO MANY possibilities!

If you've missed earlier posts just go to the bottom of this post and click the Baby Boy Journal tag and all of the previous pages will pop up.  I hope you had a great weekend!

Baby Boy Journal pages 5-6

 Hello Ai fans!

It's time for my 5th and 6th pages of my Baby Boy Journal.
This isn't a journal based on an actual baby.

I've made up the stats you've seen but some of the little things I've added are true.
For instance...I had long since gone back to work before my son would sleep through the night. I was so tired all the time.  I was SO grateful when he FINALLY slept through the night at 4 months.

I was inspired to do a "sleep" page as I was going through my Art Impressions binder.  When I saw the sleeping koala I just knew he'd be perfect in this journal.  I used one of the frames from the journal set to make it look like you're looking out a window and seeing him asleep in a tree.  He's so cute!

The little page I made slips out of the pocket to reveal another sentiment.
You could add real photos too.

This journal set is so wonderful and versatile! So far I think I've seen babies, Christmas, Fall, flowers and scripture.  The possibilities are endless.

Baby Boy Journal Pages 3-4

Hello Ai fans!

It's time for my 3rd and 4th pages of my Baby Boy Journal.

On Thursday I shared my cover and first two pages to go along with the Dynamic Duo challenge on the Art Impressions blog.  Today, my journal journey continues.

These pages also qualify for the current challenge,  Dynamic Duo.
because I used the Journal Template set, the Journal Die set, the Journal Clasp set, a verse from the Baby Boy set and two former freebie stamps.  All are linked below for your convenience.

All of the dies you see on this page come either in the Template or Clasp set.
So many dies and SO versatile!

The words on this page were spelled out using the new Journal Letter Dies.
You can literally make any word in any language that you want!

Hello Baby Boy Journal from Art Impressions

Hello Ai fans!

There's a new challenge on the Art Impressions blog called Dynamic Duo.
They want to see at least 2 stamp or die sets on your creation.

I used 9!  WHAT??  Yes,  9 different sets plus the new Bleed Proof White paint which is incredible!!
You don't need to be a watercolor artist to love that stuff!

I've been working on a baby journal.

Today I'll share my cover and the first two pages.

All products will be linked at the bottom of my post.

The little sheep is popped up on foam dots so the the clasp will close underneath him.

The decorative clasp dies are so pretty!  They're so ornate and just perfect for whatever journal you decide to make.

The back of my journal is the only page that I won't be "decorating" but with the back of the clasp it still looks pretty.

My first page has a pocket for a stat sheet about the birth of this baby boy.
I used a stencil to draw lines for my handwritten text which I erased afterwards.

Here's the insert out of it's pocket after I erased the lines.

This is the entire journal from the outside.

Here it is opened on the inside without any pages added yet.

This is my first added page so with the page on the inside of the front cover,  this is technically page 2.

I used the Bleed Proof White paint to add little dots on the fabric.

I haven't glued my page in yet because I need to decorate the back before I do that.
Stay tuned this Sunday to see the next two pages.
