Some sketches...

Hello and happy Monday!

I thought I'd share some sketches I did last week.  Some  of the kids at school were talking about drawing and asked me if I liked to draw.  Of course I said I like to doodle now and then.  I had a couple requests...Now I have a list a mile long from the kids!  I'll accommodate when I can.

Fun & Funky Folds with Art Impressions

Welcome to Art Impressions

On my card I've used Sports Fan.
On my card he's the "coach" though.
My son just finished his first modified soccer
season and this is a thank you for his coach.
He had a whole hour and 15 min. from the
time his modified season ended and his winter league
practice began.  Talk about no down time!

The many thanks!!! phrase is a rub on.
He's colored with Copic Markers.

Here's the backside where you can personalize it.

Get Well Soon soccer card

A boy on my son's soccer team was hurt in the fall playing football.  He had surgery this past Wednesday and I made this card for the boys to sign and give to him with the basket that another mother put together.

I've used the sketch from the Sweetest Thing, Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 112. (thanks Nancy!)
As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for the type of card I had in mind.  Of course I made
the card in the team colors, Royal blue and white.

Happy Birthday Lauren Soccer card

My daughter's best friend is turning 11 tomorrow and is a big soccer star!  I think she's going to love this.  Her brother has already seen it and thinks she'll love it plus he thinks it even looks a little bit like her.

I of course colored the uniform in their team colors!

Here's the inside...

I used my newest Spellbinders dies that I got in the mail the other day...Grand Circles and Grand Scalloped Circles along with my new Stars.  There is a tutorial that I posted a few days ago on how to make the ribbon "flower".

I've entered my card in the following challenges:

It's soccer season!

Soccer season?  That makes it sound like it's a temporary occurrence.  In our house soccer lasts from the last week of August until the 3rd week of June.  My kids have a lot of friends who play soccer and I know this card will come in handy.  I tried repeatedly to cut the pentagons freehand with no luck so ultimately I ended up printing a template.  I drew in the lines with a black marker and then painted the black squares and gray highlighting with acrylic paint.   I really like how realistic looking it turned out.

Card makings:

Creative Memories: circle cutter
Quickutz: Grass die
Art Impressions: Sentiment
Acrylic paint
Small soccer ball: Inkadinkado

Happy Birthday Corey

Dominick is going to his friend's house tomorrow for a birthday party. The boy is on his basketball and soccer team but soccer is definately his favorite!  I decided to do a soccer themed card with their team colors and I did my best to replicate their jersey. The stamps are Just So Sporty by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K designs and some clear soccer stamps. The background "net" is black magic mesh. I embossed the Stampin' Up Brilliant Blue paper with a Fiskars Texture plate and the cuttlebug swiss dots folder on the inside. The letters were cut with Sizzix sizzlet Girls Are Weird dies. I was dying to add some glitter to the stars but since a boy card I showed some restraint. Happy 11th Birthday Corey!

Soccer Birthday

Happy Birthday Robbie! Dominick's friend Robbie just had his birthday party and since he loves soccer I made him a soccer themed card. Robbie and his sister Lauren have been friends with my kids for a couple of years and have made many cards with me both in school and at my house so he's probably seen this stamp before. It's pretty simple for a couple of reasons... I was quite short on time when I made it and he is just a little boy so I didn't want to go too overboard.

He had about 6 boys spend the night and Dominick came home looking like a train wreck. I was told he fell on the trampoline and hurt his neck, he got hit in the nose with a football and had a cut and he had a scratch on his arm. I asked Dominick if he was glad that he had a sister and not brothers and I still got a big NO! The kids are so lucky to know them though. I hope they remain friends through the years. They are a really nice family.

The facts on the card... not much to tell here. The soccer dude is by Me & My Big Ideas. I used my very first Copic markers to color it. LOVE THEM!! The happy birthday phrase is from Stampin' Up. (The Sassy Susie set)
