I Brake for Elvis!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card that I made using a set that I just received
and what a fun set it is!!

I don't have anyone in mind for this card yet but I always like to have a few birthday cards lying around just in case.

On the inside I used the music notes from the set and a verse from an old, retired set that I've had for years.

Don't forget...you can always
when you use my coupon code

It never expires and can be used over and over again!

Thank you! Thank you very much!

 Hello and happy Tuesday!

Today I'm sharing two thank you cards that I made.

As you probably know, I work in an elementary school.  This year two of my students went above and beyond with their Valentine's Day gifts so I felt I needed to make a cute thank you card for them.

One was a boy and one was a girl.  The olive green card went to the boy.
The stamps are long since retired Cornish Heritage Farms Elvis stamps.

This was the inside of both cards.

The aqua colored card went to the girl.
I'm so lucky to work with such wonderful children.  Not because they give me gifts but because they're such thoughtful children.  This has been a year where I feel I've met some of the sweetest children I've ever known.

Elvis Thank You

Thank you, thank you very much.  That's the phrase on the inside. On the front of the card I used Finger Clickin' Elvis, a pick from a Hanna set and 2 stamps from a clear $1 set.  The circles were all cut with Spellbinders dies and the tabs on the side were done with Stampin' Ups word window punch.  As I almost always do I have lots of metal on a guys card.  I used some star brads, a metal strip and a metal corner.  I also used a Martha Stewart edger punch and a Cuttlebug embossing folder to make the music strip.  I wasn't happy with how light his pants came out when I stamped him so I used my black Copic marker to darken them up.

Love Me Tender & Thank You Very Much

I really like Elvis and when Cornish Heritage Farms added this phrase I had to have it. This card is perfect for Valentine's Day but could be given any time since I didn't put Happy V-Day on it. The inside says Eternally Yours. I colored Elvis with Copic markers and kept it simple. The hearts are the same ones from the shamrock that I talked about in my last post. I love this Elvis stamp because he's quite versatile. One of the Aides at school made me some cookies so I made her an Elvis thank you. The inside phrase says Thank you, thank you very much. The musical note background is from CHF as well. It's the Aged Sheet Music Scrapblock. The embossed notes are done with a Cuttlebug folder. I put them on dimensional tape so that it looks kind of like a curtain on a stage.

Happy Father's Day George

It's safe to post this one now too. I sent this card to my Father-in-law. He's not an Elvis fan that I know of but I liked the King theme since he's kind of the "king" of the family. The Elvis stamp is 'Finger Clickin' Elvis' from Cornish Heritage Farms. There is a pocket behind Elvis and the removable tag says "It's good to be the king"... phrase from Inkadinkado. The tag was cut with my sizzix luggage tag die. The wavy Happy Father's Day is from Hero Arts. I used the music background from Rubbernecker stamps (http://www.rubbernecker.com/p-1470-graphics.aspx) and after I stamp it I used a corner punch to make the corners. The only coloring was to use a light blue & a light gray Copic on his jacket, boots and guitar. I liked how it turned out and he says he did too. I hope he had a good day. (They're in Florida so we didn't see them).

Thank you, Thank you very much

Ladies and gentlemen...Elvis is back in the building! Cornish Heritage Farms has a brand new Elvis line and it's so cool. I chose this 'Finger Clickin' Elvis' along with several different phrases which I think will be quite versatile. For this card I used the 'Thank you very much' phrase. I love black and white together and didn't really want to add a third color to the card so I just used a metallic silver market to highlight around the guitar and notes to make them pop a little. I definitely think of Elvis as being a little over the top so I thought this paper with the silver splashes all over it would work well. I used the cuttlebug allegro folder to make the white embossed music notes and I highlighted those with "Frosted Lace" stickles. We're big Elvis fans in our house so I fun with this card.
