Brenda & Joe Anniversary card

Today I'm showcasing one of the most adorable AI couples.

They're Brenda & Joe and this particular image is called Square Dancers.

and I've used the Brenda & Joe sentiment with them.

I've used a couple of Martha Stewart border punches, a heart

and off-set circle from Marianne's Creatables 

and a corner from Sizzix.

Brenda & Joe... 3rd times the charm

Here's card #3 of my Brenda & Joe series. This one is a birthday card. I played off of Joe's denim shirt and cowboy hat for this one. The background paper is denim jeans and the bottom portion is "burlap" paper. I used denim, red trimmed ribbon to separate the two papers. There are also two different kinds of twine ribbon/rope and a brown and cream gingham ribbon. The hat is made of wood and the other 3 corners of the photo were done with tacks that I trimmed the pin part off of. The image is colored with pencils and regular brush tip markers. The background behind them was sponged with creamy brown and chestnut roan chalk inks. The inside phrase is from Art Impressions and reads Hey pardner! Here's hopin' you have a rip roarin', knee slappin' , toe tappin, brond bustin', two steppin', boot scootin' BIRTHDAY!

Tonight is the Mother/Son picnic at Dominick's school. Right now it's been raining since last night. We're hoping it will stop long enough for us to have our night but it doesn't look very good. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to show you.

Brenda & Joe take #2

Ever notice what happens when you're around someone a looooong time?? Good thing you're both good-looking! That's the Art Impressions phrase that I used for this card. Just as with the first B & J card I used both my regular brush tip markers and colored pencils to color them in. I inked around the edges of the paper and gave Brenda some stickles sparkle on her ensemble. I also added a clear plastic star eyelet and a wood guitar to give it some dimensional interest. Along the edge are white eyelets that I wove a baby blue yarn through. There is a twill blue bow as well. The background paper is white with embossed stars and I've had it FOREVER. I thought I should quit hoarding my papers and actually use them. Even though I've used the same image I think the different colors and papers really make them seem different. The phrases help too. This one is an anniversary card and inside reads Still "doe-se-doe'n" after all these years! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I can see these stamps being some that I never part with. They are too darn funny!

Brenda & Joe

Meet Brenda & Joe. This is another image and phrase from Art Impressions. I just love the detail in their stamps. I thought these 2 were a riot! This image has so many phrases that go well with it too. I made three cards at once, all with different phrases so I'll post them all over the next few days. This one says... Brenda & Joe give new meaning to the term "square" dancing! I colored these guys with my regular brush tip markers and colored pencils. I sponged ink onto the background to give it a worn look to go with the background paper. I used 3 different kinds of ribbon... faux leather, tan canvas looking ribbon (not sure what it's called) and brown twill. The silver ribbon charm came in a package of ten at Michael's in the leather crafting section. How can you not love these guys?!!
