Pasture Circlet from Art Impressions

Hello Ai fans!!

Today I'm sharing 5092 – Pasture Circlet MTF.

I recently bought a fabric denim paper pad and a burlap paper pad and have been anxious to use them. 

I was worried about cutting through 3 layers of paper, the denim and the burlap and still keeping them all lined up properly so I didn't do the traditional tryfold card the way these are meant to be used.  I cut them all and then stacked them with foam tape and adhered them to the front of the card.

I used my Arteza brush pens to color it.

Horse Shoes for Father's Day

Today I'm sharing a long overdue card.  I meant to post this when it was actually NEAR Father's Day and somehow it got lost in the shuffle. 

My friend requested a card with a "horse shoes" theme. Not having any stamps for that I decided to print something off the internet and go with a country western theme.

This one features the image COWBOY CHRISTMAS.

This is a great image if you're looking for a quick card.  As detailed as this stamp is the majority of it is to be left white since it's snow covered.  There isn't a whole lot to be colored so you could knock out a bunch of them quickly.

Sending Well Wishes horse card

Hello and happy Wednesday to you all!

Today I'm sharing a card that helped me realize how lucky I am.  I have a friend who recently challenged her other friends to help out a man she knows.  He has MS and has been struggling both physically and financially lately.

She was asking for everything from a kind word, prayer or as little as a $1 donation to help him out and let him know that people are thinking of him and he's not alone.

I was challenged to that darned "ice bucket" challenge going around on FB and for many reasons I didn't want to participate in it.  I chose to help Carl out by making this card and sending a donation to him instead.

I was told he's a "horse guy" so I hope he likes this.

The beautiful horses are from the long since "retired" PSX company.  The verse is from Cornish Heritage Farms.

I Brake For Cowboy Boots!

Today I'm sharing a western themed image with you.

This stamp is called COWBOY BOOTS.

Although my sister's birthday isn't until August I may set this aside for her.  She LOVES the western theme.  I know she'd love these boots and hat.  Inside I used a birthday verse from EVERY DAY PHRASES.

Hello Ai fans!! 

This week's Art Impressions challenge is CHECK US OUT!!  We want you to use plaid, checked, gingham paper or stamp patterns etc!

I chose to use designer paper with a gingham and plaid pattern.

I used 3 different Ai stamps on my card.  The main image on the front is Scratch. ( Scratch (Sku#T1833), Sm. Scratch (Sku#I1868)

My card is a birthday card for my brother-in-law.

Inside I used Chick Magnet (Sku#F1859) and Bird Tracks (Sku#G1838).

Yee Haw! 

There are two things that I love and I don't really know why.

Nautical and western themed things.  I don't really care much for

the beach (I'm incredibly pale with freckles) and I don't care much 

for cows or horses yet I LOVE making nautical and western themed

cards.  Go figure!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card that I made.

I've used several Art Impressions stamps on this card

On the front I used Hey Pardner (J1661) and the boot from

the Mouthfuls Dog (CS3286) clear set.

Here's a close up so you can see how cute

the boot is.

On the inside I used the verse Heres Hopin (F1659)

and the hat from the Mouthfuls Dog set. (I trimmed it a

bit so it would sit around my verse nicely)

Brenda & Joe western Anniversary card

What a cute couple Brenda & Joe make!

The stamp is called Square Dancers and it's from

Art Impressions.

I paired it with the Doe-se-doe-n phrase.

I think this will be for my Sister and Brother-In-Law's anniversary

in March.  My sister has always loved western themed things and

her husband is a Country Music DJ.

Cowboy Thank You and Birthday for Art Impressions

For our first challenge at Art Impressions this year

we have an anything goes challenge.

I needed a thank you card for my brother-in-law

and made an alternate version as a birthday card.

I've used Slim on my card as well as the

wooden barrel.

 

On the inside I've used Fabulous You (but only

the Happy Birthday part)

So...as I was saying, I needed a thank you card for my

brother-in-law.  He recently got my husband some ski

passes and on New Year's Eve he took my kids down on

the ice during an AHL Hockey intermission.  He was able

to do this because he's a country music station DJ.

He loves all things western so I thought this would

 make a wonderful card for him.  In case you're wondering

about the record...It's printed off the Internet and it's Elvira

because that's his favorite song.

I entered my card in CRAFT challenge: Thank You cards.

Pretty in Pink Cowgirl Boot Birthday

One of my customers asked for a "pink, cowboy, horse" themed card.  Her niece has

an upcoming birthday and she's very into pink and horses. 

For the boot I just printed a silhouette of boot off the internet and traced it onto my cardstock.

I then free-handed the brown part.  The horse stamp is an unknown foam stamp that I've had 

for years.  The horse is cut and matted with some Spellbinders Standard Ovals dies.

I used Copic markers to color the horse.

Inside I used a pretty birthday sentiment from Gina K and added

some Spellbinders stars.

Birthday wishes

Here's hopin' you rope in all your birthday wishes!  This is one of my cute new sentiments from Art Impressions.    I thought it would be cute with my "oldie but goodie"  horse from PSX.  They've been out of business for a while but I still love the detail in their stamps.  I kept this one very simple choosing not to color the image.  I didn't even do mattes behind anything which I ALWAYS do.  I just sponged some ink around the edges to give them some dimension.   Here's something pretty cool...are there any Duff Goldman fan's out there? (Ace of Cakes)  My kids and I really love to watch his show.  All of his team are so darn talented!  Well,  I DON'T bake at all but when I saw his line of fondant embossing molds I knew they would probably look great on paper as well.  So, that's what I used to emboss the piece below the horse.  It's a basket weave and it looked "western" to me so I went for it.  Isn't it cool?  I'll bet he never thought people would be using his cake tools to make cards!

Just FYI if any of you are considering going out and getting some of these texture tiles here's how I did it...

Sandwich recipe:  A plate, B plate, texture plate, paper, rubber embossing mat, B plate.  I did spritz my paper with water first to get a better impression.  I did this because I didn't dare shim the mold and risk cracking it since it's not as sturdy a plastic as real paper embossing plates are.  I used them 3 or 4 times and so far so good.
