Scratch! from Art Impressions

Hello Ai fans!

I guess I should clean up my pile of scrap paper more often.  I was rummaging through it the other day and came across a half finished card.  I had started making a duplicate of THIS card and apparently never finished.  I changed things up a bit and came up with what you see here.

Art Impressions Challenge #24 BIRDS

Welcome to another Art Impressions challenge.
This week we are using birds on our projects!
This was one of the first AI stamps that I ever bought and
I still love him!!  He's called Scratch.  I've used small Scratch but
there is a larger version of him too.  The Chick magnet sentiment can be found HERE.

I've used the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp for my layout.

I've used some Spellbinders dies: circles, labels.
The fence is cut from a Sizzix yellow die.
The embossing was done with a Cuttlebug folder.
The corner is painted with Tim Holtz Distressed Crackle Paint. (fired brick)

Scratch is colored with Copic markers...

I can't wait to see all of your wonderful creations!

Happy House Warming

Some friends of ours just moved into a new house and they had a party this past weekend. I made a couple of tags to put on some bottles that I took for them. One is a wine bottle tag and I tried to make the house on it look a little like theirs. For the most part the house is paper pieced. The letters, tree, fence and grass are made with Sizzix dies. The bird is a Stampin' Up stamp. The curtain inside the window is from Art Impressions. The shingles were done with the Stampin' Up Slit Punch . The wood grain on the white picket fence was done with the Cornish Heritage Farms Weathered Wood backgrounder. I topped it off with a Cuttlebug folder and a scalloped circle done with my Spellbinder's nestabilities. I also got them a bottle of BBQ sauce. We had told them about our favorite wings which believe it or not come from a small little local grocery store. You can get an assortment of sauces on the side. My favorite is one called Sweet and Sassy. On a recent grocery outing to a different store I came across a sauce that tastes identical to that one. It turned out to be my friend's favorite as well so I got her that as a joke. I thought the Art Impressions rooster was cute idea for the tag since the sauce goes on chicken. Anyways... the party was a lot of fun.

Chick Magnet Take #2

Happy Birthday to a real chick magnet. That's the phrase from Art Impressions. This card was for my nephew's birthday last week. I used the CHF chicken wire backgrounder stamped on hay paper. I then knotted some twine and stapled it to the card. The metal staples made me think of the chicken wire. The rooster is also from AI and is colored with my Copics. The rooster oval and the corners at the top are all on dimensionals. I posted a card with the rooster stamp and phrase a while back. If you like this guy then take a look at the other one... Chick Magnet.

Chick Magnet

When I saw this Rooster & phrase I just had to have it. (thanks Art Impressions) It's tough for me to find masculine stamps that I like. I have 5 nephews and 4 brothers-in-law so these stamps should get lots of use. I used my copics to color it and sponged the background with chalk ink. The barrel and hay bail are also AI. The backgrounder is yet another from Cornish Heritage Farms... 'Chicken Wire . I'm not sure yet who will end up with this card but I think they'll like this cool dude.
