The Elf on the Shelf is watching you!

Hello and happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing a cute little elf that I made for a 3rd grade class.
My friend teaches 3rd grade and has never had an elf in her classroom.
Up until this year, none of the kids ever asked for one.  This year's class was
very disappointed when they didn't see their elf on Dec. 1.  She felt bad for them
so she asked if I would grab some paper and make them one.  When they saw it
the next morning she said they were a little disappointed and said he wasn't a REAL elf.  She explained that due to Covid sometimes this is what Santa has to
send.  She said they started warming up to the idea and within no time they loved him!  She didn't know the rules yet and almost touched him.  Yikes!! The kids let
her know loudly that you NEVER touch the elf! She borrowed the book from another teacher and read it to them that afternoon.  I'm glad the kids are enjoying him.

He's so cute on his way back with his Christmas tree!

Hand painted hot cocoa mug glasses

Merry Christmas!
My daughter and I decided that this year for Christmas we wanted to try our hand at painting glasses.  We had thought about doing wine glasses but then thought it would be nice to do glasses that our whole family could use.  We found these mugs at the dollar store and thought they'd be perfect for hot cocoa.

After cleaning them thoroughly we painted our first layer.

It may take a few layers to get the paint thick enough so that you can't see through it.  We used enamel paint from Plaid and then baked them in the oven to set the paint.

These were mine.  I did Santa stuck in the chimney and a snowman.

These were my 13 yr. old daughter's.  She loves the movie Elf so she made Santa and Buddy.

You'll have to excuse the reflection from the backside on the snowman mug.

Christmas Elves

Hello Ai fans!
This is my second post today because I couldn't resist showing you one last Christmas card!  I'm so sad that I didn't get this set sooner.  These elves are the absolute cutest thing!!  If you look closely you'll even see they have freckles!  The set is called Christmas Elves (Sku#3543).

I love all the different positions that each elf is in.  It makes the possibilities almost endless.  They can sit, lean, hang, sleep on things.  You can get really creative with them.

The set also comes with a verse and the sentiment Merry Christmas.

Here's a close up of the inside of my card so you can read the verse better.

And close ups of a couple of the elves.

More tags

Here are a couple more tags that I made. I picked up the polar bear and Happy Holidays journal stamp on sale for 69 cents at A.C. Moore. DEAL!! I stamped the bear and then cut him out and attached him to the tag. His hat is highlighted with stickles and I used Copic markers to color him. I used a punch to do the snowflakes. On the other tag I used an Inkadinkado clear $1 set. I think these tags are nice because they give your gift a personal touch.
