Happy Halloween bottle decorations from Art Impressions!

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a project made with two of the new Halloween sets from Art Impressions.
I spray-painted two bottles with black matte paint and then decorated them with some wonderful new images from Ai.

This fun little reptile guy is called
This is actually only part of the image.  I cropped out his "queen" because I needed a smaller image for this bottle.

The adorable lady spider set is called

The sweet little bats are from another set called Air-Hag.

Aren't these just perfect for a fireplace mantel or on a buffet in your foyer or dining room?

Decorated wine bottle

Well,  I did it!
I got off Pinterest and actually made something that I pinned!!

I've seen lots of repurposed/upcycled wine bottles and knew that I wanted to try something like that.  I've been sick of my fireplace mantel lately and wanted to update the items on it.

Here's what I came up with.

I covered the bottle with some burlap and hemp string.  I also added some pearls, rhinestones and lace.
The flower was made with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  I used several different random pieces of fabric I had lying around.  I added an antique looking button as well as two hat pins.

For a first try,  I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

If you're like me and having been pinning stuff for "someday" I highly recommend setting down the laptop and giving something a try.  I was proud of myself when I finished this.

Thank you champagne

Hello everyone!

My daughter dances 3-4 days a week and I'm lucky enough to have a neighbor up the road give her a ride home one of those nights.  Her daughter has the same schedule on Tuesday nights and she prefers to stay at dance while she's there so I get to go home after dropping her off.

I wanted to give her a little thank you so I made this tag and tied a bow on a bottle of champagne for her.  I used two different embossing folders from Cuttlebug and Darice and several different snowflake punches.
These tags add so much personalization to a wine bottle.

Wine a little...you'll feel better!

Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a good weekend!

As you may know, there was a long-term sub in my classroom over the winter.  She left in February when the real teacher returned from her Achilles tendon surgery recovery.
I made her a little going away gift.  Like me she loves red wine and has WHITE counter tops.  Don't you hate when the wine drips down the bottle and leaves stains on the counter?!

I created this with the bottom of a terra cotta planter.

These are so easy to make and she LOVED it!!
She said her walls are the exact color of the paper.

Here's the step by step...
1. I primed the "coaster" with black spray primer.
2. Next I spray painted it with black paint.
3. I cut the scrapbook paper into a circle that would fit inside.
4. Adhere the circle with Mod Podge and brush it over the entire surface.
5. Use a waterproof sealer to seal it so it won't stain and can be wiped down.
6. Place felt on the bottom so the terra cotta won't scratch any counters or tables.

Some pretty curling ribbon jazzed up the bottle.

I also made her some wine charms to go along with my theme.

Blue Bottles

I made these bottles quite a while ago. The first one was for the sister of a friend of mine. She wanted a little something to put with her gift and when I told her about these "funny new stamps" I got she decided that a candy bottle using them was perfect. Her sister has 3 small kids including a set of twins so she thought she'd get a kick out of the phrase and frazzled looking woman. I know I've done these bottles to death but they make such cute last minute birthday or thank you gifts. They're great to have on hand for whatever comes up.

Red Bottles

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *I have been really busy with the kids activities and what little free time I've had has been spent painting in our new house. I am planning on starting the master bedroom today. As a result I haven't made anything new recently so I've pulled out an old photo to share with you. These are more of the bottles that I love to make. For me they are just so much fun and I love to reuse anything I can. The smaller bottle features a stamp from PSX. I colored it with my Marvy markers and used some silk flowers to decorate it. I think I've said before that many times I will be floral stems and pull of the flowers for projects. It's usually a lot cheaper than buying the jars of them in the craft section and there's usually a better variety to choose from. The larger bottle was stamped with a clear stamp so I am not sure who made the porcupine. He was in a clear, unmarked bag at A.C. Moore on clearance. The phrase is from Rubbernecker's Old Characters line. Have a great weekend!

Gifts for basket

This is the rest of the items going in the basket for the party this weekend. They go with the 2 cards posted earlier. (the blue birds and the red card listed with the red tag). The blue jar was done with two Cuttlebug folders and a snowflake punch. The blues really do match better in person. The circle on top is actually cut from the same paper as what I used around the jar but they look different in the photo. The snowflake on top was covered with Stickles Icicle glitter glue.

The candy bar used a Cuttlebug strip, the Stampin' Up lined stamp and a burlap ribbon.

I also decorated a Starbucks iced coffee with coordinating paper and used an Inkadinkado owl with a santa hat from a Stampin' Up set. (Crab & Co.)

Now I just need to find a basket to put them in by Friday.

Jar for Mom-To-Be

Well, as I've been saying I've had no time to craft. What little I've done is only because I made myself take time since I was being PAID to do these things for people. The baby shower is in mid October so normally I would have had plenty of time to do the favors. We should have both our current home and new home in contract by the end of this week so that means packing and with school and work starting in less than 2 weeks I will need every spare moment not spent at work or taking the kids to sports and dance to get everything ready for the move. I think they'll be surprised when I let them know they can come and get the favors so soon. I know they weren't expecting them this quickly but I was worried if I didn't do them now I wouldn't be able to finish. I showed the favors to you on Aug. 8 but I did a special bottle for the Mommy. I really hope she likes them. The jar is a Starbucks coffee bottle and I used the same paper that I used on the little jars. I did add felt pink bib ribbon and some extras not on the baby food jars. I used stamps on the little jars but when I was looking through my supplies I came across this adorable set of Precious Moments stamps and just had to use them. The topper is the same Stampin' Up stamp that I used on the others but I added a butterfly sticker. I just love all the pink and think it will coordinate well with the paper products they chose. Well.... hopefully I will see you again soon but I can't make any guarantees.

Help...I'm on the phone

The woman that I did the boy shower favors for also had asked me to make a jar for her friend in Las Vegas. (we live in NY) Due to the distance most of their friendship takes place via the phone and she wanted it to have a phrase to reflect that. Of course I didn't have any stamps with any phone sayings so she told me about a poster she has in her office... Help, I'm on the phone and I can't shut up! I thought it was too funny! I used my computer to print up that saying and I searched on-line for phone photos. I found a couple that I liked and printed them up and cut them out. The friendship saying on the tag is from Stampin' Up. She loved it and can't wait to give it to her when they visit in person.

Pink Baby Girl Favors

I have a shower coming up in October and these are the favors that I created for them. Obviously it's a girl! I was glad to hear that after just doing the boy favors. It was nice to see something besides blue for a change. They are pretty much the same as the other favors although I didn't do the baby in the diaper. I chose to do the "It's a girl" heart on the front and keep all the toppers the same. The theme at this shower is a little more formal than my other one. They wanted some humorous ones for the boy shower. For all the stamp information please see my post on the boy shower. All the stamps are the same that I used on those.

It's a boy baby shower favors

These are the favors that I did for a shower that's in about a week and a half. All of the stamps on the fronts of the jars and the diaper phrase are the Inkadinkado clear $1 sets. The "it's a boy" was from a Target dollar spot clear set and the "sweet one" phrase is from Stampin' Up. I also used the Stampin' Up scalloped circle punch. They are colored with my Copics and other than that it's just paper and ribbon. I thought I was finished but they just requested 10 more. I only had 9 more jars that size so I'm going to take one of the stage 3 larger jars and make a special one for the "mom to be". They're planning on filling them with Hershey Kisses. I hope all the guests like them.

No time to craft!

Sorry I've been MIA. Between the having family in for the funeral and getting the house in shape to sell I haven't done a bit of crafting in almost 2 weeks. So... I'm pulling out an older photo just so that I have something to share. These are 2 bottles that I made for one of the teachers and one of the aides that I worked with. One used a stampabilities House Mouse image and the PSX phrase "to teach is to touch someone's life forever" and the other used two inkadinkado floral images. The tag was cut from a McGill punch and the "thanks so much" is from a clear $1 set. Well... back to cleaning!

I'm back!

Hi all! We've been down at the lake we go to every year so I've been unable to post. The kids had a blast as usual. I had some things ready to go before we left so I'll show you one of those. I was asked to do the favors for a baby shower and this person loved my jars so I came up with a smaller version of that. I can't take the credit for it though. I was at Bunko with my sisters and I think it was actually one of them that suggested the baby food jars. Anyways... this is what I came up with and they really liked it. So much so that they said they may decorate the shower to coordinate with my favor. This was just a sample but they decided they liked it that much!! The stork is from PSX and the topper is from Stampin' Up. They're going to fill them themselves but I think they are doing some pastel M&M's or Jordan Almonds. I hope the mom likes them!

My sister's little miracles

My sister didn't think she was ever going to be able to have children and was fortunate enough to find a doctor who was able to help give her and her husband two little miracles. He is having a gathering this weekend like he does every year for his patients and she wanted to take him a little something. It's at a zoo so I went with that theme. The baby animals stamp is by All Night Media and the Nothing is Impossible phrase is by Hero Arts. I colored the animals with my water color pencils. The phrase on top was printed on my computer. Thank you Dr. K for my beautiful little nieces!

Mrs. Z's gift

One of the teacher's at school is retiring this year. I don't know her very well but I wanted to do a little something for her. I've noticed that everyday she drinks a Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino. How perfect since I love decorating those bottles. I left 2 of the bottles with the coffee in them and emptied the other two (yes, I drank them!) and put chocolate candies in them. She has also admitted to being hooked on anything chocolate. I decorated the box they came in as well. The stamp on top that you can't read is an old PSX stamp that says "To teach is to touch someone's life forever". I've been told that she's a big fan of handmade gifts so I hope she enjoys this. ...and her retirement!

Graduation Gift Bottles

These are some of the graduation bottles that I made for the craft show that sold out. The two main stamps are by Inkadinkado. The small "happy graduation" is by A Muse and the diploma is from one of the Stampin' Up bear sets. One of the bottles has an acrylic sticker on it that says "Life is a journey". I filled them with assorted chocolate candies. Many people said they were going to give them along with a gift card. I hope the graduates enjoy them.

My craft table

This was what my table looked like. I forgot my camera so I called my sister and she brought hers over. I had sold out of about half my bottles/jars by this point but you get the picture. I didn't think it was bad for a first time table. My poor baskets got an inferiority complex since the Longaberger table was directly across from me but they did the job. I got an idea of what people like and I'm looking forward to my next sale. My brown doggie treat jar was my very first sale. The other didn't go this time but here is a photo of it anyways. The image is from PSX and I used my Copic markers to color it. The jar is by "Ragu"!

My first craft sale

Well... it wasn't a roaring success but I did okay. I had the most popular table in the whole place!! Unfortunately that's not saying a whole lot. There was only one other craft table and she had homemade candles. The other tables were all vendors. I don't think I'm exaggerating to say that only about 25 people came to the sale all day. The sale was 4 hours long and I made about $100. That's not bad considering the number of people that attended. I did have fun though and I would like to do another show. My very first sale was a doggie treat jar. I wish I had more time to make more graduation cards and bottles. I sold out of those. I felt so bad for the woman who organized it. She worked so hard and I don't really know what more she could have done. She advertised in print ads, on 3 radio stations and put up flyers. She was also kind enough to put my table next to my sister's Lia Sophia table. Otherwise I would have been bored out of my mind. Oh well, I'm optimistic for another sale. Hopefully with a little participation I'll figure out which sales are the ones to be at. I did get a possible order for bridal shower favors so keep your fingers crossed!

Benefit basket

There is a little girl that Makena dances with who was diagnosed with Cancer in Dec. '06. They are having a benefit for her next month and I have put together a basket to be auctioned. I filled it with various cards and these bottles. She's such a sweet girl, always smiling. I hope she enjoys the benefit and that this will help her family out. I took Starbucks frappaccino bottles and filled them with various candy and then decorated them. Hopefully people will think these look very yummy and put lots of tickets in my bag!
