50th Anniversary Vow Renewal

My In-Laws recently renewed their vows and my Mother-In_Law asked me to do "something pretty" with the vows that she hand wrote. This was so easy to do. All I did was type up her vows in works word processor and choose a font and color that I thought would be pretty with my DP. I then I cut several flowers with my Papertrey flower dies and 2 little flower punches and glued them onto a turquoise cardstock scrap. After they dried I trimmed them out and layered them. The centers were done with dimensional paint. The leaves were made with a BossKut die and a punch and the corners are a Sizzix Sizzlet. When I glued my flowers down I only glued the centers so that I could curl up the petals to give them dimension.

You Go Girl!!!

This was my favorite costume this year. I love the bright pink with the black. One sleeve was fish net so I used the CHF 'Fishnet Backgrounder' for the border and corner of the large photo. The tickets were stamped with an Inkadinkado clear set. The diamond border was done with a Fiskars border punch and I used a filmstrip stamp done 3 times and pieced together with rub on letters for Makena's name. The brackets on page 2 are made with the Bosskuts die and I used plastic corners that I sanded and added stickles to. The hot pink flower is by Prima and I added a metal flower to coordinate with the Harley Davidson metallic flame background paper.

Jazz & Tap

Makena's jazz and tap numbers had almost the same costume. It was the same body suit and they changed out the full skirt to a flapper style little fringe number. VERY cute! I used a lot of chip board on these 2 pages. Some I used as is. The tags, corner, square button and bookplate are all as they came. The big bracket and the circles were covered over with paper and then I sanded the edges. I tore the red and gold star vellum and used it on both pages. The black and white striped ribbon is grosgrain and the black is sequins. The black, white, silver and gold stars are all cut out of metallic or sparkle paper. Some of them were done with punches but I wanted more sizes than I had punches so I stamped some stars on the backsides of the paper and then trimmed them and turned them over. The "dance all night" stamp was $1 A.C. Moore find. The night to remember and the journal block were from clear $1 sets.

Makena's Duo

Makena danced her first duo this year. They did an amazing job. She says she wasn't even nervous. I sure would be... they danced in front of several hundred people. I tried to play off of their costumes for the theme of the page. They were metallic looking with many different color circles. I chose blue sparkle paper that matched their booty shorts and then I used a circle stamp (unknown maker) in several colors to make blocks all over the page. I traced around some of the circles with stickles. The corner swirl and dance with me stamps are from a $1 set I got at A.C. Moore and the "dance" & "star" are both foam stamps. The circles around the center of attention sticker are a clear stamp that I think is from Inkadinkado. I stamped it 3 times in 3 different colors and then cut out the individual circles.

Beautiful Makena

I finally made some time to scrapbook. I started out originally as a full time scrapbooker. Then I was introduced to card making. My scrapbooking has seriously suffered since then. I used to scrap everything. Now I only do the most special photos. This is Makena in her ballet outfit from her June recital. They danced to the song One Small Voice. The background paper is from DCWV Once Upon A Time stack. The Beautiful rhinestone word is from Me & My Big Ideas. I stamped the Cornish Heritage Farms 'Vintage Ledger Scrapblock and then trimmed it. I used vellum words written over with Diamond Stickles to spell out dare to dream. The ballet slippers are from PSX and I stamped them first onto the paper and then on pink metallic paper and trimmed out just the shoes and attached them. There are silk and paper flowers and crystals as well. The border on the photo and ledger is a Martha Stewart punch and the "tutu cute" stamp (Inkadinkado) was punched out with the Stampin' Up small oval and outlined with Diamond stickles.
